UrbanSense partnered with Related Companies to develop a Digital Master Plan for Hudson Yards during the project’s development phase. Following the initial planning, UrbanSense also worked with software engineering teams to build and implement products and recommendations including creating a platform for connectivity, mapping use cases and creating product roadmaps to bring experiences and interactions to life.

UrbanSense also worked with Hudson Yards leadership to stand up the organization’s product technology division including hiring for the Chief Digital Officer and creating a software team organizational chart and job descriptions.

Building on the successes of Hudson Yards' Digital Master Plan and technology product builds, UrbanSense developed a Playbook for Scaling Digital Innovation that captured lessons learned from Hudson Yards’ digital implementation to Related’s other properties in the US and in Europe.

Key components of our approach included:

  • Digital Master Planning: Creating a strategic roadmap for implementing cutting-edge digital infrastructure and services at Hudson Yards.

  • Implementation Support: Collaborating with engineering teams to deploy technologies, including:

    • A platform for seamless connectivity.

    • Mapping use cases to enhance tenant experiences and interactions.

  • Shared Services Model: Establishing systems for efficiency and consistency across multiple properties, including CRM, digital signage, AI cameras, building operations management, and tenant engagement apps.

  • Playbook Development: Documenting lessons learned, best practices, and scalable models for replication across Related's properties in the US and Europe.

Outcomes

UrbanSense’s work with Hudson Yards is driving innovation and enhancing tenant experiences across Related’s portfolio. By implementing scalable solutions, Related is expanding to properties like The Square in West Palm Beach and Grand Ave in Los Angeles.
